It seems you really didn't read the bible. The idea of celibacy as a means of purification and a discipline. Paul writes, “An unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord. But a married man is anxious about the things of the world, how he may please his wife, and he is divided.” (Corinthians 7:32-34)
The celibacy is not practiced in Christan. The priests who were singles eventually got married when they found their haves.
