玩币者很少会自建硬件钱包的，往往都是下载一个现成的钱包app，在手机或平板电脑里直接使用。
然而这些钱包apps的安全程度是高低不一的。有太多的“钱包”其实不是钱包，仅是一个查询与交易app，你的钱都在服务方手里握着。服务方出了故障或者干脆跑路了，你的钱也就化为乌有了。
一个真正的钱包app，起码应该由玩家将密钥保存在自己手里，而不让其他任何人掌握。这类apps也可分为三大类：
* 不公布源码。该钱包app到底有没有刻意附带恶性功能（比如窃取用户密钥）、有没有漏洞，外人不得而知。就算它出自一家迄今名声较好的公司，也无法保证管理层和码农队伍里混入歹人和脑残。特别是在币值飙升之后，人性往往难以经受住诱惑；
* 源码公开，但外人无法用其生成相应的app。这几乎等于真正的源码并未公开。当然，从好处想，出现这个问题也许是源码提供方的有些说明没有写到位，也可能是版本不同引发的误会；
* 源码公开且可以生成相应app。这种属于最老老实实的一类了，但即便是这样，也可能存在漏洞，需要全球专家帮忙不断地堵漏。
