We always assumed the liquor stores would be protected under the same category as supermarkets.
We were constantly re-assured there was plenty of supply to meet the demand, so everybody was reasonably satisfied.
Then rumour got around they were closing, and Australians are like “Oh Shit, this is more serious than the toilet paper crisis ... let’s go!”
