Police are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a girl in broad daylight after following her off a train in Melbourne's north last month.
The 16-year-old girl stepped off a city-bound train at Regent train station, in Reservoir, around midday on Tuesday, January 13.
Investigators believe the man followed the girl from the train until the pair reached the ticket area beside the platform where he attacked her.
The man was thought to have boarded the train at either Epping, Lalor or Thomastown railway station.
He was described as aged in his 40s, up to 170 centimetres tall and looked Lebanese or southern European. He was described as having tanned skin and a solid build.
Investigators have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to.
